The site is situated on the eastern side of the Šiauliai-Kelmė highway (E77 Pskov-Budapest), about 13 kilometers southwest of the center of Šiauliai.

Owned and operated by Lietuvos Radijo ir Televizijos Centras (LRTC), this is one of the major radio and TV transmitting stations in Lithuania. It serves most of the population of Northern Lithuania.
